Mission
To recognise, celebrate and elevate the outstanding contributions of ethnic minority individuals, businesses and organisations in Dorset.
About DEHA
We celebrate contribution, inspire future generations and strengthen social inclusion across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Weymouth and wider Dorset.
The Dorset Ethnic Heroes Awards began as the Dorset Ethnic Minority Awards (DEMA), successfully delivered in 2018 and 2019 to recognise the achievements of ethnic minority individuals and organisations across the county.
Today, we are proud to continue that journey as DEHA. While our name has evolved, our purpose has not changed: we exist to celebrate contribution, inspire future generations and strengthen social inclusion in Dorset. DEHA is the next chapter of the same trusted movement.

Language matters. “Heroes” is intentional: it is positive, aspirational and rooted in strength. It recognises individuals for leadership, service and impact—not simply identity.
DEHA honours heritage while focusing on achievement. This empowering framing reflects the spirit of our awards and the future we are helping shape: confident, inclusive and full of possibility.
