The Judging Process

Fair. Transparent. Impact-Focused.

Our structured approach ensures every nominee is assessed with integrity, consistency and respect.

How Judging Works

1. Nominee Research

Judges review submissions for completeness, relevance and category fit.

2. Qualification Validation

Evidence and references are checked for eligibility and authenticity.

3. Panel Scoring & Voting

Jurors score nominations against agreed criteria using structured voting.

4. Impact Assessment

Final decisions prioritise meaningful impact, leadership and sustained contribution.

Judging Criteria

Impact

What measurable or meaningful difference has the nominee made?

Contribution

How significant and sustained is their contribution in Dorset?

Inspiration

Does the nominee motivate others through leadership, service or excellence?

Sustainability

Is the nominee’s impact likely to endure and continue benefiting communities?

Integrity Statement

DEHA is committed to impartiality and trust. Jurors do not adjudicate categories where family members, close friends or direct colleagues are nominated. Any potential conflict of interest is declared in advance and managed through recusal procedures.
